Streaming mkv files on brand new samsung 8000 tv

What can work is renaming the MKV files with an AVI extension. That will allow the TV to see the file over the network, it will then discover that it is actually an MKV file, and play it.

Sounds stupid. It really IS stupid. But, it seems to work when dealing with DLNA servers and Samsung smart TVs.
