What are the steps involved here? I've attached the dtshddecoderdll.dll to makemkv, as per instruction, & done back up. DVDAE can see 24/192pcm in mkv stream file, but will only rip to 24/48.
What other program or method might work here? (Using a mac). Thanks.

I had the similar issue.
You have to go into the Title, expand it, and then select DTS-HD. For some reason it is NOT selected by default. Hope that helps.

Guys, I always tick the HD-Audio when ripping but seems all BDs come in 5.1 sound, not in 7.1
Some of the BDs have Audio in 5.1 and 7.1. I am just wondering how do I select the 7.1 HD Audio?

You are already ripping the HD 7.1 audio correctly.
I'm guessing that your problem isn't with how you are ripping, but rather with how you are playing the audio.
1. You cannot play 7.1 HD audio over an S/PDIF cable, you MUST be using HDMI.
2. Your amp / receiver must support 7.1 DTS-HD / Dolby TrueHD bitstreams natively, otherwise you will only HEAR 5.1 audio and your amp will show you that it's only playing 5.1 audio.
With DTS, your equipment will automatically only play the 5.1 Core track if it cannot handle the full 7.1 HD audio.
With Dolby TrueHD, if your equipment cannot handle it, you would need to have an additional Dolby Digital 5.1 track as an extra stream to play instead of the HD audio because Dolby TrueHD does not embed a 5.1 Core track inside the 7.1 HD track like DTS-HD does.

I also have realized that only certain versions of certain movies actually have the 7.1 soundtrack on them. Sometimes even store exclusives.
