The plan is to drop support for OSX 10.5 very soon. Please post in this topic if you think this will be a problem.

10.6 is still available from the Apple Store, and runs on any Intel Mac, so I say kill it.

Amen!

Keep it compatible with 10.6.x.

My Mac Mini (first gen Intel) may or may not be able to run 10.7, and 10.8 is probably not possible.
In fact, it's not supposed to be able to run 10.7 even, as it came with a paltry 1.66GHz Core Duo, but the 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo I installed is capable, as long as I can hack past the HW checks in the installer. (A bit of a messy operation, supposedly. The installer uses the 'Gestalt ID' not a scan of the system to check for compatibility)

Anyway, there's a lot of early Intel Macs out there still, especially Minis hooked up to TVs, and they're a good target for this program.
Mac Mini, 2005 with superdrive, 2GB RAM, 80GB SSD, Core2Duo 2.16GHz CPU...
2 x LG USB DVD-drives and 'old spiteful' an IDE-based DVD-reader from a desktop connected to the internals of an old FW-HDD.

I am not happy with what you are doing. Don't forget there are still people out there using Mac OS X 10.5. So please retool version 1.8.6 of MakeMKV and make it compatible with Mac OS X 10.5, because every time I tried to used it, it kept quitting repeatedly, and re-downloading the previous version didn't help either. Please see sense in what you're doing and reintroduce Mac OS X 10.5 compatibility for good.

Leopard is 7 years old. I think common sense should prevail and you should kill it. Resources you place into supporting an old version of the OS (3 version removed), end up taking away from everyone else. Even 10.6 is 5 years old now. I can't imagine someone won't upgrade to 10.6 except out of stubbornness, or refusal to change.

Or that 10.7+ is generally lame?
