Errors
I've got a protected DVD I'd rather watch on my iPad than on a DVD player. I'm getting the following:
LIBMKV_TRACE: BROKEN DIRECTORY ENTRY

Re: Errors
It's a broken disc - by mistake or a new structure protection. Please tell what OS are you using and I'll post the workaround.
Re: Errors
I'm using Mac OS 10.8.5. I feel pretty confident it's new structure protection.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Errors
Any update on this? I am seeing it too on discs I know are not broken so, it must be new copy protection.
Re: Errors
Scratch this one. I think it was an error on the part of my player. Sorry.
Error 'Scsi error - STATUS_05' occurred while issuing SCSI command 460200100..00100 to device 'DASPI:IODASPIService:b5b8e4475916374d:'

Re: Errors
I'd like to reiterate my hope of solving this. Thanks.
Re: Errors
The newest release still won't work:
Optical drive "BD-RE TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB TS00" opened in DASPI v1.4 mode.

Re: Errors
Im seeing this also - using 10.9. seen it on 2 discs
both show up as 'data' discs.
Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/rdisk3
Current profile: DVD-R
Manufacturer: TSSTcorp
Product: BDDVDW SE-506AB
Revision: TS01
Serial number: ---
Bus encryption flags: 1F
Disc Information
Data capacity: 4.6 Gb
Disc type: DVD-R
Disc size: 120mm
Number of layers: 1 (PTP)
full log:
Debug log started at Tue Dec 17 18:28:39 2013 , written by MakeMKV v1.8.7 darwin(x86-release)
Using 524544KB for read cache.
001005:0000 MakeMKV v1.8.7 darwin(x86-release) started
001004:0000 Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/--/MakeMKV_log.txt
002014:0000 Optical drive "BD-RE TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506AB TS01" opened in DASPI v1.4 mode.
001002:0020 LIBMKV_TRACE: BROKEN DIRECTORY ENTRY

001003:0020 DEBUG: Code 0 at Kj*:>q93[MEvI/a'/:121262164
for what its worth im fairly confident that these discs have the latest and greatest copy protection available. is there any other information that I can provide that would be helpful in defeating this?

Re: Errors
I've only viewed one of them on my computer. It freezes around 8 minutes in. When played on a DVD player, it runs fine. Mind you, I tried three different drives and two different computers to check this. On a Mac, it freezes (around) 8 min in...
***EDIT*** Seems only to be the one disk. Another with same encoding plays fine on Mac DVD Player.

Re: Errors
Any updates on this? I'm still seeing it on multiple discs and I've tried various dvd mounting tools and workarounds to no avail.

Re: Errors
This is a new protection. The next version will handle these discs, but currently there is no workaround. The update should be available in a few days.
