I'm using MKV 1.8.6 for mac. Just recently purchased the complete Bond 007 DVD set and want copies to load onto my Smart TV so I don't have to use the discs. The first 4 DVDs wrote w/o incident, now I'm getting this error message on the last 4 I've tried to write to m4v's.

Your drive cannot read part of the disk. There is either a flaw in the disk, a scratch or smudge that cannot be read through, or the drive has a problem.

First step is cleaning the disk. Scratches do not have to be very visible to cause read problems. I've had them occur when a disk pops off the holder in shipping, and the plastic-on-plastic is just enough to cause a read problem. Waxing the disk takes care of that most of the time, but returning a defective disk for replacement is still a possibility.

Is the drive a bus-powered USB type? Verify that it has sufficient power, although the failure messages for this problem usually don't report as a medium error.
