problems with ripping bluray

Hi
Not sure if i'm in the right place but I am using vortex box which runs makemkv to rip dvd and blurays to my server.

The problem is a few of the dvd do not rip completely and when ever I insert a blu ray disk nothing happens at all.

Appreciate any help or pointing in the right direction.

What version of MakeMKV are you running? Do you actually HAVE a Bluray drive in the system? You've given very little information to work from.

Sorry im running MakeMKV v1.8.5 linux(x86-release).

I do have a blu ray player as I managed to rip Die Hard 1 once.

But since then no other blu ray disk are recognised. Also I tried to rip Die hard again and had the same problem with that disk.

Is it possible the blu ray part of the drive is faulty.

If it is reading DVDs, then the mechanical parts are probably working.

Do you have debug logging enabled? Posting the log from starting MakeMKV up and inserting a BD to be ripped might be helpful.

Hi thanks for your help bought a new blu ray drive and tried it again all works fine now
