Bug. Multiple runs at once switches drives

Post by philhu » Sun Sep 15, 2013 4:16 pm

If I run makemkv multiple times using multiple DVD drives, the different runs each reads the drive statuses as they switch between drives on their own

Example. Run it twice. Point one to drive1 and one to drive2. Then insert a disk in drive1. BOTH runs will switch to drive1

This is very confusing at times

It does not switch while it is writing mkv files. Which is good

Does anyone else see this? It is a great program, but this problem can be very annoying

It isn't a bug, so much as a lacked feature - locking an instance of MakeMKV to a single optical drive. Since MakeMKV will attempt to use any optical drives it finds, multiple copies running at the same time think the "other instance's drive" is fair game.

It's one of the more requested features to add.
