Feature Request: Contact Online Database for Movie Info

Contact an online movie/tv series database for info on the disc inserted or opened.

Display information while ripping...makes the program look nicer and less plain.

A quick mockup. Took 2 seconds.

There is no (free) online per-disc database. XBMC locates info by name, not by disc id.

Mike, is it possible to create such a database? I'm not asking you to make one, I'm just curious if such a feat is even possible.

Does MakeMKV report the disc ID somewhere?

Of course it's possible. Something like CDDB.

I would advise you to look for this type of solution: DVDProfiler.
It has already a database of several thousands DVD & Blue-Ray accessible by title, disc-id.
If someone did already register the disc, just inserting it in your pc and suggestion would pop up based on db content.
I don't know if there is an API in order to search through it. To be verified with the owner of this solution. Integration with such solution could be a premium type of feature
