Hello. I've recently started to use Make MKV. I've made an MKV of the Django Unchained Bluray, but I have a problem.
The MKV file seems to be okay. It plays perfectly via VLC Player. However, when I try to convert the file to H.264 using Handbrake I run into problems. The resulting H.264 file seems to be copy protected. I am left with a file that's 4.59GBS in size, but it states that it's a protected MPEG-4 movie. It won't play on VLC, and when I try to open the file in QT Player it states that “Django_Unchained_t00.m4v” could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands".
I think that I may be making some mistakes when I create the MKV. It seems as though Make MKV isn't stripping the copy protection. If anybody can help me with this issue, I'd appreciate it greatly.
Sorry if this subject has been covered before. I've tried to search the forum, and used a search engine, but I couldn't find the answer.
I am running the version 1.8.4 of MakeMKV on a Macbook Pro.
Thanks a lot,
Matthew.

Re: Django Unchained - Bluray
You should be posting on the handbrake forum.

Re: Django Unchained - Bluray
Maybe you're right. I thought about posting on the Handbrake forum, but I thought I'd have more luck here. I've been using Handbrake for a while, with no problems. I've only had an issue when trying to convert MKVs via Make MKV. I assumed that this may be because I'm doing something wrong with MakeMKV...
Re: Django Unchained - Bluray
MakeMKV just pulls the data off the disc. It sounds more like you have a playpack issue with your Mac than anything to do with MakeMKV or Handbrake; but I don't use any Apple products so I can't offer much help there.

Cheers, I'll give it a go on another machine.
Re: Django Unchained - Bluray
If you don't check the "Large file size" checkbox, files that exceed 4 GB in size will be unplayable. A message is written to the encode Activity Log about it.
Note that the next version of HandBrake (whenever it is released, probably next year) will have a new MP4 muxer which autoselects between 32-bit and 64-bit chunk offsets ("Large file size") - some (old) hardware devices still won't be able to play MP4 files larger than 4 GB, but the output will be valid so that you can e.g. split the output if you want to.

Re: Django Unchained - Bluray
Thank you, all. That's great. Selecting the 'large file' box solved the problem. Your help is greatly appreciated.
