Bluray scanning stopped abruptly

Post by DirtDiver »

Using a iMac running 10.8.4. MKV worked wonderfully for over a month then abruptly started rejecting Bluray disks. Assumed this was due to the trial period ending, so paid to register, downloaded the current version, and added the license. Still will not scan Blurays, but will scan DVDs. Tried a variety of different Bluray disks. All that happens is an attempt to load then ejection of the disk.

Any ideas?

The Mac OS X ejects discs that it can't understand. The workaround is to start MakeMKV and only then insert the disc. Please post here if it works.

Unfortunately, that did not work. It is so odd since MKV worked great for over three months as did the Bluray DVD drive until about three weeks ago. The DVD drive functions perfectly as does MKV if a normal DVD is inserted. If there are no other ideas, I may need to buy another Bluray drive to see if it is a hardware problem.
