I tried using MakeMKV to rip my DVD about 10 movies, It's seem OK with audio sync.
BUT. Is that sync was correct and exactly the same of DVD source?
Are these sync change after converted?
For example.
VTS_01_1.VOB
Delay relative to video : -66ms
After converted to mkv with MakeMKV "Delay relative to video" was gone.
I'm really confused with this.
Now I borrowed fews DVD movies from my friend and
not sure what should I do between rip to ISO with DVDFab or rip to MKV with MakeMKV for
original DVD source audio sync.
How about audio sync?
Re: How about audio sync?
That's probably Windows Media Player. Have you also tried MPC-HC?
Mistakes are learning tools.
Re: How about audio sync?
Under the General tab of the preferences settings, click "Show AV synchronization messages". MakeMKV will then show you sync issues it discovers during the rip, and what it does to correct them when it can.

Re: How about audio sync?
I mean I use MediaInfo to see detail of files between inside DVD Disc and after ripped to mkv by MakeMKV.
Why Delay in VOB file was gone after rippedto mkv? Sometimes it add delay after ripped.
My question is How accurate of MakeMKV in audio sync? Audio sync after ripped to mkv is the same to DVD disc?

Re: How about audio sync?
As I understand it, MakeMKV will attempt to make the tracks have matching time codes.

Re: How about audio sync?
Go to preferences, enable "expert mode", then on advanced tab enable "show AV sync issues". After you do this, MakeMKV will show any possible issues. In short, MakeMKV maintains very accurate audio/video sync (even if there are mastering errors).Aurora wrote:My question is How accurate of MakeMKV in audio sync? Re: How about audio sync?
Hmm. I see now but not quite clear yet.
Some 7ms Some 24ms
And I tested between DVDFab and MakeMKV, the result is MakeMKV is better.
Output mkv files from DVDFab come with audio stutter at beginning,
That a very huge problem of movie ripping, I'm glad I didn't trow all my movie with DVDFab.
I think DVDFab is not a solution for MKV and I hate GUI of it. I like a clean GUI of MakeMKV.
Actually it's not how much accurate but it is accurate or not.
I hope MakeMKV rip my DVD with accurate audio sync.
Thank you for a good program but much more thanks if you give me a lifetime key!
All 224ms but why "Delay relative to video" on output mkv not the same?AV sync issue in stream 1 at 0:00:00.008 with duration of 224ms : 7 early frame(s) dropped at start
