I noticed something while using makemkv today, and thought it may be worth reporting. I opened up a disc to backup, but never actually initiated the backup before heading out for the day. When I got home, I initiated the backup. However, when I did so, the elapsed time for copying all files was over showing over 8 hours. Because of this, the estimated remaining time was showing as 12+ hours initially.
Everything works great and have no issues with the output. However, it seemed to me that the time would best be based when the backup was initiated as opposed to when the disc was initially read. If there is a reason why it was decided to base this time on the disc read-time, please let me know just to satisfy my curiosity.
Thanks for all the development and keep up the great work!
Discrepancy calculating "elapsed time" for copying files?
Re: Discrepancy calculating "elapsed time" for copying files
No need to worry about this. To me, this is a usual behavior of Windows. It has something to do with error checking and estimated time frame may not be accurate and can suddenly change over few hours.
