Blu Ray drive not recognized

This is the first time I have tried to use this. I just bought an LG MO DISC model number uh12ns29. When I open Make MKV on my mac, it only sees the internal DVD player. I have the Blu Ray connected via USB. Any idea on how I can see it on under the source drop down button?

Does the Mac see it as an optical drive? The operating system has to know about it before MakeMKV can know about it.

I can browse the blu ray disc in the finder, but Make MKV only recognizes the internal DVD drive.

Interesting. Please launch MakeMKV and try opening the index.bdmv file from the disc (via File->Open menu). The operation will fail but I'm curious to see the log file.
