Sony DVDirect
Seems to work ok with single layer DVDs but dual layer gives this error:
Failed to open disc
Using direct disc access mode
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header.
IFO file for VTS #1 is corrupt, VOB file must be scanned. This may take very long time, please be patient.
Title #1 (3:50:41) was skipped due to navigation error
Title #2 (3:50:41) was skipped due to navigation error
It is especially sensitive to dvd burns that go to the end of the media and cutoff.
This happens with overnight burns often.
I am forced to transfer media over 2 single sided disks when over 2 hours in length.
It kinda sucks. LOL I sure hope there is an answer.

Re: Sony DVDirect Dual Layer Issue for Model VRDMC5
Did I post this in the wrong spot? Is there some other details I can give? Is this a recording device that you are not interested in supporting or are you investigating? Thanks for reading.
Re: Sony DVDirect Dual Layer Issue for Model VRDMC5
While it probably won't help with this, have you tried it with version 1.8.3, which was released last week?

Re: Sony DVDirect Dual Layer Issue for Model VRDMC5
Thanks for the reply.
I have not, but the issue is intermittent so it may be recorder related.
I was able to extract 1:47:00 from the disk using mkvmerge. (Loading the VOB)
It resulted in a video that abruptly stops within media player classic.
Windows Media Player seems to load the entire movie but seek does not work.
I think my DVDirect is having issues finalizing the 2nd layer of the disk.
Maybe it is a bug in the firmware. I am checking for updates.
