Very high memory usage of makemkvcon64.exe

Using 1.8.1 and 1.8.0 I'm seeing very high memory usage of makemkvcon64.exe during bluray rips.

Specifically, the title is ET. Unfortunately I don't have any other discs to check against as I'm in the middle of moving house and everything is packed away.

Anyway here is the memory usage showing in task man. I've actually seen it go well over a gig.



BTW Buffer size is already set to 256 rather than auto based on other forum topics, no change though as far as I can tell.

OS is W 7 fully up to date.

This is wrong, especially with buffer set to 256M. Do you see this with any discs or only with some selected discs? Can you try "saving" the MKV file anywhere under the folder C:/tmp/NULL/ (case and forward slashes ARE important) and see if it will use the same amount of memory?

Please test the 1.8.3 and tell if it makes any difference.
