How to convert vob video files?

#1 Post by williammanda » Mon Jan 18, 2010 10:41 pm

AS the title states... how do you convert a vob video file? I have tried successfully with iso files and copying dvd's but the software doesn't recognize vob files. I'm using ubuntu 9.10 64 bit.
Thanks

Not sure MakeMKV can convert VOBs, try installing mkvtoolnix and mkvtoolnix-gui with your Ubuntu package manager.

It can combine multiple vobs or mkv files into one mkv.

TY I'm already using that program. I was looking for an all in one program in makemkv to do that function as well.

Yes MakeMKV can converts the video from proprietary disk into a set of MKV files. MakeMKV can instantly stream decrypted video without intermediate conversion to wide range of players, so you may watch DVD discs with your favorite player on Ubuntu.
