The Hobbit - Fatal Error Occured, Program will now Exit

#1 Post by JC_123 » Mon Mar 25, 2013 4:16 pm

Hi,

Just installed MakeMKV v1.8 to get the new SVQs for newer discs, and now I'm having trouble getting any discs to properly open. Now whenever I try to open the disc, I get the fatal error msg and the program closes. Here is the log.txt file for the Hobbit. I had the same exact issue with Life of Pi. v1.8 is the only version i've ever had this error with. I had previously been using v1.7.7 and had no issues.

Here's the log output, which interestingly does not log the fatal error and says the operation completed successfully. The only thing it did successfully was crash!

I ripped this very title last night, no errors. File size ended up 28.45GB

I am using the Mac version 1.8.0 of MakeMKV.
2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon (mid 2012)
64GB Memory
Mac OS X 10.14.6

I am using x86 on XP, my guess is results will vary depending upon OS.

Admins-I will upload the dump file for the BD+ code a bit later, since decryption process appears to be what kills it. Please confirm your email address as if it's too big I can try to send you a link to it.

Of course the minute I turn on debug, the darned thing works!

Ah well, still having an issue with Life of Pi. I will post output in that thread & send you the dump for that, just let me know what email address I should send it to.

Thanks

hey atom, my issue actually ended up being related to my windows login user. It had a domain associated with it, and for whatever reason when I wasn't connected to the domain MakeMKV failed. I have since started logging in with a different windows login user that is a local admin on the machine with no external associated domains, and that took care of the issue. I'm still hoping mike the admin can chime in and let me know why this would matter for an application like MakeMKV.

My machine has no domains etc its just a straight admin user account and my problem still exists.
