DVD subtitles

Post by adriandg »

Hi

I'm wondering how to get just the forced subtitles when ripping to mkv from DVD's. I've ripped all my blu rays with makemkv and managed to get all the forced subtitles to display properly, as you can just select the forced ones from the tick boxes when you start the rip.

However when you do a DVD you don't get the option to select just forced subtitles, you just get a subtitles tick box. So I would say that this does the whole subtitle track not just the forced ones.

The films I intend to rip from DVD are the extended Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Thanks

Interesting. Using DVD Shrink's reauthor mode in combination with Set start/end frames you could upload a two min clip with all streams to Sendspace or something so ppl could take a look.

Sorry for sounding a bit thick, but that means nothing to me :(

BDSup2Sub can do forced-only extraction, as can HandBrake (though the latter always re-encodes the video).
