Failed to save title to file
Failed to save title to file
I got "Failed to save title" error when I work with DVD. I thought it DVD issue. I use AnyDVD to backup VIDEO_TS directory to hard drive. The same error.

Insufficient information. See link in my signature for turning on debugging and submitting information.
With a higher level of debugging turned on, you might see information flow by about inability to read a sector on the DVD, or problems writing to the drive, etc.

Re: Failed to save title to file
The drive is having problems reading sectors from the DVD. Since MakeMKV wants to write an error-free copy (DVD and BD players will accept a lot of errors and work around them), it gives up on that title.001002:0020 LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
First thing to try is cleaning the disk. I like to use Pledge furniture polish, because it will fill in small scratches to let you rip disks that might LOOK OK, but won't read properly.

Re: Failed to save title to file
The log say: "Opening files on harddrive" and this is correct. I already copy VIDEO_TS directory from DVD to hard drive.
Re: Failed to save title to file
Does it fail if you read directly from the DVD? Your method of copying to the hard drive may have modified the files in a way that can't be decoded.

Re: Failed to save title to file
Yes. This is why I backup it to disk. I copy it on two different PC (Win 7 64bit and WinXP x86) using two different program - the same error.Woodstock wrote:Does it fail if you read directly from the DVD? Re: Failed to save title to file
OK, I'm going to try to do this in a way that won't invoke the "URL filter". Mike will want a more complete debugging file for this, which you can find out how to create and transfer by putting the following after the ".com" in the forum URL:
/onlinehelp/testdump.html
It will result in a rather large file.
