Fast Five Blu Ray ripping problem

Post by tsha222 » Wed Jan 30, 2013 9:08 pm

Anyone having any issues with Fast Five Blu Ray? I have a paid for and registered version of MAKEMKV on a PC that I use just for archiving but the system drive is crashing so it is off to be restored from my backup. I have, in the meantime, been using an editing suite PC with a trial version of MAKEMKV to continue adding my titles to my server, one by one by one......

I can rip the disc fine, although it takes a painfully long time. The ripped file, however, jumps about ten minutes or so into the film. The beginning is completely missing. This is a RENTAL disc. So I am not certain that the file structure is the same. I do know that it is missing all of the special features and the extended version that my retail copy has (the retail copy is unplayable thanks to my toddler and I am ripping all of my DVDs, HDDVDs and Blu's to a custom server. It was either rent this or re-purchase and the studios have gotten their fair share from me, thank you very much.... Off topic, but to cite but one example: I own Jaws on CED, Laserdisc, DVD and have it ordered on Blu Ray. I think Universal can play ball with me on Fast Five)

I first open the disc then select the largest file to rip. When that didn't work the first time, I just ripped everyting I could. Still no dice.

Any input would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, you're motivation and justification for ripping a rental disk doesn't make it legal to discuss your problem with doing so on this forum.
