The Guard

MakeMKV won't save The Guard to disk. I get the following error info:

I installed dsall.svq into the data directory, but it makes no difference.

Dirty or damaged disc. Try cleaning the disc. If it still won't rip, return to place of purchase in exchange for a new one...

This is not the problem. It plays just fine on a Blu-ray player.

Playing and ripping are not the same thing. When you rip a disc it needs to be able to read every single sector of a disc in order to be able to make a copy. When you play if it hits a bad sector it'll just skip it and you probably won't notice.

Your disc is dirty, poorly pressed or defective, swap it for a new one.
