MKV file renaming?

#1 Post by Darrenr75 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 5:54 pm

Hi,

I'm new to this board, so hello and Happy New Year!

I've been successfully using MKV to rip movies onto my Mac Mini (Mountain Lion), and they play fine - but when I'm trying to find them via Plex the files are all named as title01.mkv etc

How do I get the files converted to a format that I can easily browse to? Or do I simply renamed them manually (I hope not as this would take forever...)

Cheers,
Darren

I believe the newer versions of MakeMKV allow you to change the files names before ripping.

For files that have already been ripped, you will have to change the file name yourself.

Hi,
New to MakeMKV and am having the same issue. I am running version 1.7.10 on MacOSX 10.7.5. I looked through the options and did not see anything to set the created file name. My goal is to rip my DVDs and have them available through Plex where I can browse by name. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Enable advanced mode in preferences and you'll get a dropdown alongside the title name which allows you to switch to choosing the filename instead.
