Hi guys,
I have a couple of Blurays which i want to put onto my external HDD to play on my media player. The couple of discs in question have both the 3D and 2D version of the movie on the one disc. One of the movies is Arthur Christmas. I only want to use the 2D version but when i use MakeMKV i only see 1 main movie.
There is an option when you play the disc, in the bluray player, to select to watch it in 3D or 2D.
How do i get the 2D version only onto the HDD?
When i tried ripping it, I played it on the media player and its the 3D version.
many thanks in advance and have a great xmas all

Re: Bluray with 3D and 2D on one disc
This is a case where the "two movies" are really one, with options. Sometimes, you will encounter a "director's commentary", which is really just an extra audio track that is ignored if you play the "standard" version.
Not owning a 3D BD yet, I can't tell you how to tell MakeMKV how to NOT save the extra information for the 3D version (lots of people made endless requests to have it added!), but someone will probably pop in with the answer by the weekend.

Re: Bluray with 3D and 2D on one disc
Is there a checkbox for the MVC extension by the video selection, or something along those lines? The MVC extension is what turns the 2D video into a 3D one. Disable that and you'll be left with a 2D file.
I don't have any 3D Blu-rays either so I haven't seen the option myself.
