makeMKV overnetwork wont work
simple problem hope with a simple solution im trying to make an MKV from a Blu-ray iv tested it on my personal drives and it works fine but when I try to go across the network and use a network drive as the output it fails to save the MKV I know its not the router or anyfirewalls cuz my firewall has an exception set. and my dad did the sucesfully from his mac so know its not the destination computer. somebody plz give some advise
Re: makeMKV overnetwork wont work
What error messages are being reported?
Note that a LOT of "won't rip to the network" issues are because the destination is reporting to Windows that the maximum file size is 4GB on the destination device, even if it isn't true. A half-hour TV episode is bigger than that on BD. MakeMKV won't write the file if it has been told there isn't room for it.
I'm regularly ripping Bluray disks across the network, because the machine that has the fastest ripping is NOT the machine that has all the storage attached to it. But I have encountered the "no space" problem when sending files to certain NAS boxes, because Windows Networking thinks they're formatted FAT32.

Re: makeMKV overnetwork wont work
well I don't actually get an error per say. it just says "0 titles saved, # titles failed" and that's all I get if it is an issue with windows reporting the file size is there a fix for that?
Re: makeMKV overnetwork wont work
Make sure you have debugging turned on.
Are you mapping the network resource as a drive letter, or accessing it using a URI path?
If you are NOT mapping it to a drive letter, give that a try (mine is mapped as "R:", for "ripping"). There isn't supposed to be a difference for most programs, but I have encountered issues with some programs when dealing with large files and unmapped resources.
