OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
Hi,
Has anyone used OSX Mountain Lion with MakeMkv?
Ive used this software for a while without issue and find it to be excellent....however...i recently updated to Mountain Lion Preview and now it's not working at all...
I have full BDMV rips that initially the BDMV folder is not selectable...however if i access the contents as a package and then extract them to a folder - I still cannot get them to open in Makemkv..
Has anyone had this issue at all as im pulling my hair out!

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
You cannot open BDMV folders directly in MakeMKV.
If you have a decrypted folder on disk, open the BDMV/index.bdmv file instead.
If you have an encrypted Blu-ray disc, MakeMKV should automatically scan it when you insert it in your Blu-ray drive (no need to use the Open button, which BTW won't work with optical discs, it's only meant to open folders on your hard drive).

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
Thanks for the reply.
I think the BDMV folder issue is specific to the new version of Mountain Lion....if i rename the folder so i can open it as bdmv1 or similar so it can be browsed, i can see the folder contents.
If i then navigate to open the index.bdmv file, makemkv does nothing...thats my issue

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
I know what you are saying. I did a full disc backup to my external hard drive. When I went back later to convert it to mkv, trying to navigate the folders didn't work properly. The folder that I needed to start the conversion did not appear and when I did finally find it, it was greyed out. Rebooting under Lion worked as normal.
Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
Same issue here. Please fix this. Thanks a lot.

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
This just looks like a side effect of QuickTime X's newfound support for AVCHD. Apple apparently thought it a good idea to treat BDMV folders as packages in the open file dialogs.
Renaming the folder doesn't appear to work either (i.e. MakeMKV's doesn't expect it and fails to recognize the folder as a disc backup).
I guess the only workaround for now is to make an ISO of the backup. Haven't looked into how to do this yet.

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
Guys,
If you rename the BDMV folder to bdmv (lowercase) this seems to work fine.
Regards,
George

Thanks for the possible workaround!georgejolliffe wrote:Guys,

I'll test it later.
Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
It doesn't work for me. MakeMKV failed to open the disk.

What does the debug log say?jahtv wrote:It doesn't work for me. MakeMKV failed to open the disk.
It definitely works over here.
Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
Rubberdog, I am having the exact same issue. Did you ever figure it out. The index &movieobject files that alway loss the list of clickable files to add to the mkv no longer loads when clicked on. I just get a failed to open. I have never had this problem, now it is with everyfile I click on.rubberdog wrote:Thanks for the reply.

Re: OSX Mountain Lion BDMV Folders
I just saw the other post in this forum about downloading the latest version of MakeMKV which can open the BDMV "packages" in Mountain Lion, so that's great. However, I am still getting Failed to open disc messages on a lot of movies now. Here is an example log message:

DEBUG: Code 0 at >?!b#mxt|y2&ft+$:213133963

Any ideas?
