Windows 7 compatible?

#1 Post by Gregory.Rotter » Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:40 pm

Hi guys, I recently got a Pioneer blu ray dvd rom, (BDC-s03xl) and when I run Makemkv, it just says scanning spti devices, or something along those longes. First it says time remaining, then it shows an ever increasing 'elapsed' time. I've tried running the program in XP mode, and it runs there, so I am just wondering what I can do to get it to run properly in Windows 7? Any ideas?

The program should run on windows7 just fine. Does it show any errors if you enable "log debug messages" in preferences?

I'm also having this problem. I recently upgraded from a Core 2 Duo system running vista 32bit, to a Core i7 system running windows 7 64bit. I am still using the Pioneer BDC-202 drive I previously used. Make MKV worked perfectly on 1.4.8 on my vista system but now on windows 7 it sits there "Scanning device: SPTI:\Device\CdRom0", and still happens after upgrading to version 1.4.9. If you close the program, the process makemkvcon64.exe remains running in the background.

Also I can't get into preferences to enable logging debug messages

Oh, I have been using MakeMKV for the past 2 weeks with no problem. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate with Intel Q9550 cpu and 8GB ram, with an external Asus BluRay drive.

How about support for the progress indicator on the Windows 7 taskbar? That would be sweet!

I'm not talking about the percentage complete on the title. I'm talking about the icon shading that graphically shows progress in each application. Both the mkvmerge gui and MeGUI are both able to do this now. Comes in quite handy because you don't have to move the mouse to check on their progress. Just look at the taskbar. Like this:
