v1.7.7 is old and I should download the actual version

Post by romeo-kilo » Sat Oct 13, 2012 4:54 pm

Just started a freshly installed V1.7.7 win(x86-release) on a virgin machine.
It tells me that the Program is old and I should download the actual version, or register.
Unfortunately I can just download version 1.7.7.

Thanks a lot for a hint!

Maybe change the wording of that post to contain the phrase 'registration key' as well as 'activation key', since that's what's on the alert pop-up.

That way we could find it by searching the forums easier.

Did you try resetting the system date back to when the old beta key was usable, then try installing the new key?

I do agree that a better way of dealing with an expired key would be to prompt for the new one, rather than simply shutting down without giving you the option to put in the new key.

Of course, I found a better work-around... I registered! ;)

This normally should never happen - we missed a release (by two days). The 1.7.8 is now available.
