Hi,
I am using makemkv under OpenSuse 12.2 Linux.
It is working flawlessly. Great program!
I only have 3 BluRays so far, one of them is
"Marvel's the Avengers 3D".
I would like to watch it in 3D on my LG 32LM660S
3D TV/Monitor. The 32LM660S can play 3D media
directly, but not in the MVC format that makemkv
generates. It only plays it in 2D.
The same applies to all Linux media players that
I have tried (mplayer, xine, vlc, xbmc). They all
play the 3D MVC mkv file created by makemkv
flawlessly - but only in 2D.
However, playing 3D content in "side by side" or
"over under" or "interleaved rows" format, e.g.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSGfN9rr78Q
works just fine on the 32LM660S.
The 32LM660S is full HD (1920x1080) in 2D,
but uses "interleaved rows" for 3D, so it effectively
has only 1920x540 in 3D.
It would be just great if makemkv could get an
option to output "over under" or "interleaved rows" format.
"side by side" would be only partially OK, since it would cut
the resolution in half one more time, leaving only
960x540.
If there is no such 3D output format support planned for makemkv,
does anyone know a utility that can convert a 3D MVC
mkv into "over under" or "interleaved rows" format?
