Prometeus crash

#1 Post by zumosol » Fri Oct 05, 2012 1:07 pm

hello

Tuesday I got a dump file that I have send a link to from Google Drive.
If I try now, Make MKV crashes totally, see attached screen dump.
Any solution to this?
Any other informations needed?

Have a nice weekend :)

Hi!

Based on the fact that you've posted to the "Blu-ray Error" sub-forum, I presume you're describing a problem with a Blu-ray disc and not another of the several formats this title is being sold in.

It appears that the Blu-ray version of "Prometheus" (and DVD, as well), is scheduled for release in the U.S. (by far the largest market) on October 9th. Shortly thereafter, once people in the US have purchased this title on Blu-ray, it's far more likely that others will have experienced the same problem as you've described, and offer meaningful assistance.

Yes I describe a problem with a Blu ray disc Prometheus, that hit the worlds largest consumer market (EU) on Tuesday the 2nd of October 2012.

Click on the following link

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/blu-ra ... 2011-25811

It indicates that the US Blu-ray market is almost double the size of the market for all of Europe:

Blu-ray Disc Sales up 35% in 20116 Dec, 2011
By: Erik Gruenwedel

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sales of Blu-ray Disc movies in the last four months of the year have skyrocketed, eclipsing what had been a sluggish year for the high-definition packaged media format, an analyst said.

BD disc sales in the United States will reach about 115 million units in 2011, compared with 85 million units in 2010 — spearheaded by the Star Wars: The Complete Saga boxed set release, Jim Bottoms, analyst with Futuresource in London, told Home Media Magazine.

In Europe, BD disc sales will balloon 42% to 63 million units, compared with 44 million units last year — driven by strong adoption in Germany.

I'm a newby, and am typing on a diff PC, but I got about the same as the last poster. Would be glad to send a dump file, but have no clue what it is.

I'm not an idiot - I'm the guy you want standing over you if you've been shot, but not the one to fix anything computerish. I'm grateful this program is as easy as it is.

My program didnt crash BTW (just downloaded latest version), just keeps sending me back to the screen to start the copy.

I am having the same problem with this disk, as others earlier in this post have said, it fails to open up.
This is what it says:
MakeMKV v1.7.7 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded 111 SVQ file(s)
Processing BD+ code, please be patient - this may take up to few minutes
Processing BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
Failed to process BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
Saved BD+ dump file as C:\Users\skynet/.MakeMKV/dump_Prometheus_8E2946326625EF80.tgz
Failed to process BD+ code, please check http://www.makemkv.com/svq/ for updated program and SVQ files
Failed to open disc

any suggestions?

i would post it on here but i can see there's already a few up.

thanks a bunch.

No crash on my Mac system but "Dump" files were created for both PROMETHEUS 3D BD and PROMETHEUS BD when MakeMKV attempted to open the optical discs. (No "Dump" file created for PROMETHEUS DVD which appeared to open normally.) URL for my personal "Dumps" Download page and direct links to individual PROMETHEUS dump files emailed to Mike at your "Support" address.
