Problem converting my ISOs.

Hi guys,

As a movie buff who travels a lot, I carry around my collection my hard drives instead of my original BDs itself - primarily in the fear i'll scratch the hell out of them otherwise. I used to store all my DVDs and BDs as ISOs... but now, I've commenced condensing my library; and since I have the BDs anyways, have decided to chuck the extras et al and carry only the main movies along.

I've converted a good number of my ISOs to MKVs with great ease - thank you MakeMKV devs!. But have stumbled upon a few errors recently.

I have my 'Superman Anthology' collection - the 8 BDs in ISO, but am unable to convert them to MKVs. It'll be some time before I can get back home to my original discs, so haven't had the chance to try that.

Any help would be appreciated.

FYI...
- I'm on a MacPro, using the latest version of MakeMKV.
- The drive I'm creating my Library on is a WD Caviar Green - which I know isn't the fastest - but it's what is recommended for my Dune.
- I've tried creating the MKV on another HD, but the same error.
- The ISO plays perfectly fine all through - without a single error.

The only time I get this error is when I try and make one drive do too much. The heads can only be in one place at a time, so making them be here, there, and over there, in a short time can cause an issue.

So, just make sure you aren't doing too much with your destination drive, and I would be willing to guess that this problem should go away.

And just incase, maybe the drive is very fragmented, you could try defragging it to see if that helps keep the heads from traveling too much.

Thanks for the reply SC,

I don't think that could be an issue. I converted a few more of my ISOs to MKVs with success onto the same drive. And since I'm on a Mac... am not too sure if there is any native way to defrag a drive - as OS X handles all data dumps 'smartly'.

The strange part is... that the ISO plays perfectly. So I don't think there could be something wrong. I re-tried the extract with the supplements... and they ripped just fine. So could it be that something went wrong with my main title when I created the ISOs?

Maybe Activity Monitor can show you what is using the disc?

I'm not sure if OS X will keep all drives defragged or only the boot drive.

Otherwise, anything is possible when you did the original rips.
