Issues with multiple regular DVD's.

Post by Izusaga »

I've had MakeMKV setup backing up my Blu-Ray collection flawlessly, but I've recently begun working on my DVD's. Started with Billy Madison, Liar Liar, and Little Nicky.

I've backed up 200+ movies (both blu-ray and DVD) successfully, but these movies refuse to backup correctly. They ALWAYS have video and audio de-sync. The video appears to be moving too fast (like 1.25x speed) and seems to have the quality of a crappy oldschool VHS tape (blurred artifacts and all).

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong with these movies? Appears to be Universal DVD's giving me the problems..

Zero suggestions on this? I've had a dozen DVD's with this issue. =/

I would suggest that you enable debugging and post a log.

Just tried this. There is no debug log created (even when the debug log check box is enabled and the program is restarted and verified the setting persisted).

I am assuming the log does not get created if there are no errors?

you would be incorrect in assuming that.

the debug log will always be created.

This is likely a problem with your playback software. There is nothing in your debug log to indicate an issue with A/V sync.

Using a default install of PS3 Media server. It works 100% for Blu-Ray rips, but does not process SOME DVD's incorrectly. I just installed PS3 Media Server on a fresh VM and still have the same issues.. will investigate further.

Thanks.

@Izusaga

Hi!

Try playing them on both a standalone DVD player and your PC...
