Ubuntu Server 12.04 "library icui18n" error

I installed makemkv w/o any problems, but when I go to run the program, I get the following error:

Unable to load library icui18n "Cannot load library icui18n: (libicui18n.so.48: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
makemkv: cannot connect to X server

I found a number of bug reports online that had the same error (for different programs). For example, http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-92 ... art-0.html gives a viable workaround if you are running gentoo.

This area of linux is completely over my head though--so I'm hoping for any insights, thoughts, or suggestions on this issue.

I feel like I always find my answer after making a forum post. Please disregard my previous post. This error doesn't seem to affect the functionality of this program.
