Hello Guys,
I own a BU40N with Libredrive enabled and UHD capability running A100 firmware. (it came with this)...

Code: Select all

 scsi 2:0:0:0: CD-ROM HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N A100 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5

And I ran your "permanent command" :

Code: Select all

# sg_raw -r 4 /dev/sr0 3C 0D 01 00 00 00 DD FF 00 00
SCSI Status: Good

Received 4 bytes of data:
 00 00 00 00 00 ....
#
so I suspect it was successful as I do not have any BD disc on hand where I am...
Thanks a lot.

ran the persistent one on my BU40N (1.03 MK) the other night and got DD 00 00 00 back, so i figured it had taken... stuck in a scratched disc that used to give me garbage and hash errors, and ddrescue actually flagged the bad bits this time instead of carrying on like nothing was wrong. took alot longer mind, drive was grinding away for ages (bit like my Defender on a cold morning šŸ˜‚)

After creating a disc image using ddrescue, I mount the image in Windows and copy the contents of that image plus the separately-generated "discatt.dat" to a new disc image project using ImgBurn, and write all that to a new image file. Then mount that image and decrypt it with MakeMKV.
