Ben-Hur Disc 1 Works Disc 2 "Volume Key Unknown"

Post by shadow-archetype »

I have Ben-Hur 4K UHD.

MakeMKV was successful with Disc 1. Disc 2 did not read after multiple attempts with "Volume Key Unknown".

If both discs failed or both discs succeeded, that would make sense. The fact that one works and the other doesn't is weird.

I downloaded the latest keydb.cfg and placed it in my .MakeMKV directory, which worked for all other discs where I've had this issue. It did not solve the problem.

I opened the latest keydb.cfg file and noticed that there is one more entry for "BEN_HUR_1959_PART_1 (Ben-Hur (1959) Part 1)" than for "BEN_HUR_1959_PART_2 (Ben-Hur (1959) Part 2)".

I'm still not sure exactly what to do. I'm not sure if this is a missing submission or some other issue.

Do I need to follow these instructions? viewtopic.php?t=38293

And post a snippet along these lines?

Code: Select all

Disc type:
Disc ID:
Disc dump filename:
Drive:
Drive firmware:
LibreDrive status:
Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes?
Have you verified that all submission links are accessible in incognito/private browsing?
Is your MKB_RO.inf file size at least 2MB?
MKB_RO.inf link: (The MKB_RO.inf file must be at least 2 megabytes. Do not just extract the MKB_RO.inf file from the disc dump file - copy it directly from the AACS folder on the original disc)

It definitely sounds like the public keydb does not contain an entry for your disc.

Yep, that would be a good next step. Please make sure you remember to upload the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS directory on your disc.
