Hello Obi_00,Obi_00 wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2026 7:35 am Hi everyone,
I am trying to get my Pioneer BDR-209MBK drive to read 4K UHD Blu-rays with MakeMKV.
Currently, standard Blu-rays and DVDs read perfectly, and LibreDrive status shows as Enabled when a standard disc is inserted. However, when I insert a 4K UHD disc, the drive does not recognise it and displays "No disc inserted".
Here are my drive details from MakeMKV:
Drive Information
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-209M
Revision: 8.11
Firmware date: 2014-01-16
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81
LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 8.11/ID52
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
Could someone please point me in the right direction or help me with the correct flasher firmware to enable 4K UHD support for this drive?
Thanks in advance for your help!
I have the exact same drive as you, and a few days ago I cross-flashed it with different firmware to make it UHD-compatible. The issue is that I didn’t create a backup/dump of the original firmware.
However, I would like to have the original firmware just to be safe, so I wanted to ask if you would be kind enough to dump the original firmware from your drive and send it to me?
I can help you with that, if you like (including flashing it with UHD-compatible firmware).
Btw. you can request the flashing tool and firmware by following this forum post: viewtopic.php?t=42590
Thank you
