What is the fastest BDROM drive out there? I don't care much about writing, since I save everything to my unraid server. Right now I'm using an LG CH08LS10 drive. This is an older drive, so I'm sure there are much quicker ones out there. Anyone suggest anything?

I don't know. Some drives may be artificially limited by the firmware, perhaps to keep the drive quieter during DVD playback, or to make life more difficult for pirates. At least, that was the case with DVD drives. Check out MediaCodeSpeedEdit, and maybe you can speed up your current drive:

I just ordered myself a Pioneer 2207 which is 12x. This drive just came out and has some pretty awesome features. It's supposed to be really good with hard to read discs. Of course, it's out of stock so I'm waiting for them to get them back in but as soon as they do it'll be shipped to me. Can't wait to try it out.
