Pioneer BDR XS07B-UHD LibreDrive not enabled

#1 Post by sopgiasbf » Thu Oct 22, 2026 8:53 pm

Hi,
I recently bought a BDR XS07B-UHD imported from japan. While I'm able to insert discs and MakeMKV recognizes them and the drive, I get the following error when trying to read UHD discs:
"Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive"
Reading around on the forums, I need to enable LibreDrive. I find this odd, as I bought a UHD drive specifically because I saw in several places on the forum that I would not need to flash firmware if I did. Am I doing something wrong?
I am aware I can email Billy or Marty about a flasher, I'm just not thrilled about the idea of spending more money on this already expensive drive, especially when it was supposed to be able to do this out of the box.

Everyone is providing it free already. the only exception is trevbot. i believe he still charges $19.90 now (For Pioneer Drives $19.90, LG drives are free).. down from $29.90..
if you want a totally free and no emails exchanges kinda thingy, then MattJacksons Free download website for nearly 1634 firmware files, plus his free flasher, just do a search. i am so comfortable using Mattjacksons flasher and its so easy to just choose the multitude of firmware choices that he has on the website to choose from.
