Can't access an UHD already in DB

Greetings Team,

Sorry for the long message.

I have been using MakeMKV for several years with great satisfaction and have therefore switched my buying habits from BR to UHD last year. Sio far, the only thing that prevented me from doing so was that I couldn’t back these discs up before I got the appropriate drive. So, thanks for that.

And thanks also for the very fast way that the Team delivers the new keys once the dump is shared here.

I yet have one question I still have no answer to. Despite I have been able to back up all my UHDs, there are still three of them MakeMKV can’t access to. It seems due to the fact they are already in the database. It keeps returning me the usual message asking me to share the same dump I already shared :

One more piece of information that may be useful is that I had the same problem with this disc : viewtopic.php?p=201126. It was already in the database when I submitted my dump but I couldn’t back it up anyway. Yet, I kept trying for the following weeks and finally could access the disc +/- 2 months after submission. Even if I have no idea why MakeMKV turned out to access the disc in the end, I am sure I did nothing new but download the new keydb before each of my attempts.

Do you have any idea what it is due to ?

By the way, despite I’ve already been told to post dumps in the thread « Public KeyDB Disc Submissions », I kept posting them in the UHD subforum. I didn’t ignore the request on purpose ; I simply didn’t understand it in first place. I got that right today while browsing the forums. All apologizes for that. I’ll do correctly from now on.

It was already in the database when I submitted my dump but I couldn’t back it up anyway. Yet, I kept trying for the following weeks and finally could access the disc +/- 2 months after submission.

If the keys to a disc are available in a database, either the MakeMKV native database or a suitably configured keydb.cfg file, then MakeMKV will be able to decrypt and backup the disc. If MakeMKV cannot decrypt a disc that is a very strong indication that the disc is either not present in a database or it only has a partial keydb record.

All of your disc dump links seem to be expired. Please re-upload the disc dumps and MKB_RO.inf files and provide the new links to this thread. Your discs will then be added to the public keydb.

I'm glad to hear we are on the same page. Keeping things centralised makes everything easier in this circumstance.
