Actual cases for spare 4K UHD drives

I got hold of some older NOS OEM Pioneer BDR-UD03/04 slimline drives from a laptop builder.
Right now I use a techpulse120 plastic external case to check and flash through them.
I searched for hours to find that damn case.
Are there any cases available to buy new right now (EUROPE) that have quality build like the one the Verbatim 43888 comes in for example?
With a real USB-C directly on the case, USB3+ and aluminium.
The techpulse works but has a Micro B USB and I hate those.
Older usb2 cases simply fail for permanent power supply for 4k ripping and most of them were made for harddrives, not bluray burners.

Nope. Generally only the plastic one's on amazon now. The last one's I got a few weeks ago were the Silverstone TS14 (USB 2 I believe) and I can't find these at the moment either.

Did you ever open up an Intenso or Verbatim case? They also got cheaper or used options with just dvd burners inside for example. I would just replace the drive then if I can find them at ok prices. The silverstone I found but they ask 40€ + shipping for it and that is a bit crazy.

Nah, not interested in buying one with a DVD or BD drive already in it. They are still more expensive than an empty enclosure plus I then I would have to do something with the drive taken out of it. Too much hassle.

Recently I've bought this one on Ali : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050060 ... pt=glo2fra
It is quite nice because the top and bottom cover are made of aluminium.
But the inner part is plastic
But there are no provision to screw the drive in it. It is hold by "elasticity" of the plastic case and the interface connector.
But, mine came with a USB 3 old style connector.
I was able to open the case and see that the board has a power connector which is not accessible from the outside. If you drill a hole in the plastic case, it shows
Maybe you can find it nearer than China...

I bit the sour apple and got 2 silverstones for around 40€ per piece. Atleast they are proven to work. The other option would be EOD400 by Intenso. They cost less than 40€ even with drives inside and the case looks identical to the one on the EOD500 which I verified to fully support lgbu40n already. Simply no idea if they use the same sata bridge inside.
