Just piggybacking on this thread as I thought my BDR-XD05s wasn't able to be flashed. Would love to flash this thing and put my old ASUS drive to rest.

Yet another user here, I have 2 of these drives, one black and one silver, and just found out that they can't read UHD Blurays as-is. All of the specs below are identical for both drives, except the serial number and manufacture date printed on the bottom of the drives. The black one was manufactured in December 2015 and the silver one in April 2016. Is it possible to reflash one or both of them? Thanks in advance.
