For some reason, the 2nd of out 3 discs from the Season 1 of "Fallout" is an "unknown volume key", the other discs can be decrypted.

Thanks for the submission. Your disc has been added to the public keydb.

The libaacs disc ID is the SHA-1 hash of your discs Unit_Key_RO.inf file.

Generally, that occurs when some strict subset of discs in a set are identical in multiple geographic markets whilst the remaining discs have some authoring/content differences which result in distinct AACS identifiers and keys. But each UHD disc in season 1 of Fallout now has four distinct keydb entries, so it might've been an oversight from an earlier submission.

Toad King wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 1:04 am AFAIK those discs have an authoring quirk where they have AACS data but the disc itself isn't actually encrypted. Follow the steps in this post and you should be able to rip them to MKVs: viewtopic.php?p=202415#p202415
Thanks, this worked for City on Fire 4k. Backed up without decrypting, removed AACS folder, opened folder in MakeMKV.

Welcome to the forum intheboilerroom. Your disc has also been added to the public keydb. Please include the full, multi-megabyte MKB_RO.inf file from the disc next time. If your disc didn't share a media key with 5 other variants of Speed the absence of the full MKB_RO.inf file would've prevented a complete keydb record from being generated.
