DVD's audio?
I ripped off my HALCALI Cyborg Oretachi DVD, and despite setting the language to none, Japanese, and English, nothing seems to work. I tried 5 times and no audio yet. Can someone please help? It'd be appreciated

MediaInfo is a handy tool to show details about what's actually in a .mkv file.
Does it say there are audio tracks in the .mkv file or not?
If there are audio tracks, are they DTS audio?
If they are, can your player properly decode DTS audio? By default, Windows Media Player can not do it. This often trips people up.

The video stream is MPEG, the audio stream is PCM (assuming what you needed), and the text stream is RLE. I put my DVD in an Acer player, and it's playing in VLC. The DVD is also copy-protected, so does that make any difference?

Well, if there is PCM audio in the .mkv file then there is audio in the file. I'm pretty sure VLC can play .mkv files with PCM audio.
Ripping the disc with MakeMKV should get you past the copy protection on the disc.
I'm not sure why you can't hear any audio when you play the .mkv file? If there is an audio track in the .mkv file (as is the case according the MediaInfo) then maybe something isn't right about the playback software being used to play the .mkv file?
