Issue with new disc drive

I got a disc drive a while back and MakeMKV doesn't seem to work with it. whenever MakeMKV is open and a disc—blu-ray or DVD, is inserted MakeMKV will try to scan the disc drive and get stuck forever on "Scanning CD-ROM devices" with no ability to abort. my new drive is a HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CH20N. I did not have this issue with a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB. All my other applications work with this new drive. I am using Arch Linux. I am using MakeMKV version 1.18.4 but the issue was there for 1.18.3 as well.

Temporarily downgrade to makemkv-bin-1.17.6 : viewtopic.php?t=42158

After doing the above, try opening a disc with MakeMKV again. A firmware dump should be created. Once the firmware dump has been created, feel free to upgrade back to makemkv-bin-1.18.4 again if you wish.
