I received my drive a couple of days ago, it's legit and comes preflashed as the seller claims since makemkv reports libredrive is enable. When it comes to actually ripping I had issues, I hope they're just because I tested using a sata to usb adapter since my 5.5" slot in my computer already houses another drive.

I’m no uber expert but based on what I’ve read about different drives on this forum, what people have discussed on here and comments read on other discussion platforms then base on your explanation of how you connected the drive up via USB I’m wondering if the drive didn’t have enough power (amps) to operate correctly…..
The drive is designed for internal PC mounting and would be powered off the amply capable PC power supply.
When these internal drives are used externally over USB they are normally mounted in an external case which has a separate power brick adapter that plugs into the wall outlet to provide the drive with ample power/amperage.
So if it was connected in the basic fashion as you explained it you would most likely require at a bare minimum a dual USB-A connector to SATA so when you connect to your computer you are plugging in 2 USB-A plugs to get twice the amperage by combining two ports output power to the drive so it doesn’t start to glitch under heavy load and draw such as spinning the disc, powering the laser head, and moving the head back and forth.
All this draws more current/amps from the PC USB ports to achieve than just powering the drive up and interrogating its settings and firmware with MakeMKV.

Alternatively you could have been using a dual USB-A lead or another means of externally powering the drive which you haven’t explained that has lead me to my assumption and answer.

This one is recommended. Most others don't allow flashing and are also only supposed to work with HDD. This one supports optical drives 100%.

Yes. And it supports all SCSI commands for flashing all optical drives. Many adapters and even enclosures don't.

I already used my adapter to flash my LG WH14NS40 to rip 4K Blu-Rays so who knows. I'll properly test the Pioneer drive (I forgot to mention I got the BDR-S09XLT) and connect it to my server after I come back from vacations

Is yours flashed to 211 / S11 for UHD? If not contact me. The Pioneers are not easy to flash with cheap USB->SATA adapters. Just to let you know.

I've got my BDR-S09XLT yesterday. It was delivered to Poland in about week. Drive came in original OEM box, it's libredrive-enabled. I tested it on few Blu-rays and it works flawlessly. I'm using it with ICY BOX IB-525-U3 enclosure without any problems.

Received in central US in a little over a week after making payment. Drive is legit, came LibreDrive enabled, and I've already ripped a couple of Blu-rays without issue.
