Looking more and more worrying that libredrive won't happen to these drives within their lifetime.

Old news, but felt relevant here:
"RS1xxx - old firmware, could be technically supported, but too much hassle to make it happen. Likely would stay unsupported."

I would like to bump this thread.

Even though these RS1013 drives are old, due to short supply of blu ray drives in general I hope that RS1013 drives can be reconsidered.

Edit: Actually I misunderstood. I thought it actually would not work at all but it does save titles without issues.
