When it comes to optical drive firmware, you shouldn't attempt to fix something that isn't currently broken, and the less a drive gets flashed, the better. If you do get errors on a troublesome disc for example, it might be worth giving DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.02_MK.bin a try.
EDIT : Also, yes, that command is the correct one should you ever need it.
EDIT: BTW I tried some discs that all my other drives gave errors on - that I thought were just damaged discs - and this drive with the 1.03 firmware was able to read them. It struggled for sure but did end up making good rips. Perhaps that's a good omen for this v1.03 firmware. If I encounter any errors/probs I'll post them here first before flashing to v1.02...
This success with those discs makes me very happy with the BH40N drive of course.
