Testing MakeMKV and have made 5 HD-DVD files. Good Results so far.
Some of the HD DVD's when played show Dolby EX and some show TRUE HD which amazed me.
I was wondering on some HD DVDs the title has both TRUE HD and Dolby, but when selecting the main title and make the MKV file, the movie shows DOLBY EX...which is great, but there is TRUE HD somewhere on the HD DVD.....
When presented with the list of HD DVD files I see the main selection and many smaller selections but no "audio" streams selections or any that are eaisly shown...
So is there any magic in ripping these HD DVDs to be able to select either Dolby EX or True HD is they are there?
Understand the core is there and captured.
I biistream in my JRiver media player and I do see the TRUE HD and Dolby EX on the discs I have done, one or the other...and if I turn off bitstream I see the PCM multi-channel stream...
Just wondering etc...The main reason for this for me is to back up those HD DVD discs that lost the format war..
thanks
