Need firmware for flashing BD-RW BDR-212M

Post by diron »

Hi, I am new to the forum but have been using MakeMKV with a different drive for a while. I just bought a BD-RW BDR-212M from Japan, it works fine but the firmware seems to not be compatible with UHD. I think it can be flashed so I was hoping I could get the necessary files for this model from this forum :)

I don't know if I should post the whole MakeMKV output for the drive model and firmware. I think these are the relevant ones: Kernel Type: ID56 / Hardware Rev: SAT 8F00

If more info is needed, tell me and I can post it. Thanks in advance.

Only Billy can help you as this firmware is too new for the flasher.

Hi,

I have a BDR-212M with the info as follows:

Drive Information
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-212M
Revision: 1.01
Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8F00
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-212T
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.01/ID56
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

I believe this can be flashed to read UHD BD as it has the old firmware on it, is this correct?
