Missing Forced Subtitle Track

I have some older DVD's where I know there are forced (foreign dialog translation) subtitles and they show when playing the DVD in a DVD player. However when I rip the DVD it shows three English subtitle tracks but none of them are the foreign dialog translation track. The DVDs are "xXx" and "Top Secret!". In both cases there is plenty of foreign language that requires subtitles. Again, in both cases the three English subtitle tracks are the full English subtitles, the English subtitles with audio descriptive subtitles and then the director's commentary. I have ripped the disc with all three tracks and played them on VLC, selecting each track in turn, and non of them are the foreign dialog translation. I have even used SubitleEdit to re-confirm the contents of the three tracks and none are the foreign dialog translation. Can I ask if anyone else has this issue and what am I doing wrong?
