all right i have until recently been quiet about a lot of things going on in this world involving makemkv.

i have just had enough, so everyone read up. i am telling you how to save money, increase your video library and enjoy some movies with some cheddar cheese popcorn.

it is simple, lookup the location of your public library and go and get a library card. they have a excellent movie section of all genres.

when you have your card select up to 10 dvds or blurays or 4k uhd check them out rip them to your ssd, and drop them back off anytime before they are due back.

While advertising the services of public libraries is all well and good, advocating the abuse of their resources for copyright infringement (I refuse to follow the industry line in exaggerating it with the term "piracy") is not.

If you don't like the industry then don't support it - don't buy films, don't visit cinemas, don't buy the action figures/posters/other merchandise and don't subscribe to streaming services. There are plenty of other things to do with your time that don't involve law-breaking.

However, one option that you could (and probably should consider) is visiting your local charity/thrift shop. Many of these are selling used DVD/Blu-Rays and you can (a) build up a collection cheaply; (b) rip it for personal use legally (depending on jurisdiction) and (c) support a good cause all at once. And without a penny/cent going to the MPAAfia...
